UMKC LGBTQIA 项目 & 服务 envisions a campus which celebrates, 发展, 支持, and critically engages LGBTQIA + students, 教师, 工作人员, and 社区 members. We work towards this vision through the following:

• Create connection and 社区 for all LGBTQIA + students, including through partnerships with university and 社区 members, to help students develop as citizens in our collective democratic project.
• 批判性的 教育 LGBTQIA + students and the larger university 社区 about LGBTQIA + experiences, 文化, 学术 advances, and issues in order to do active allyship both with and within the 社区.
• Create a 文化 of care on campus that routinely 支持 LGBTQIA + students’ physical, 精神, 情感, 学术, 和精神 健康.
• Continue our history of 提倡 for the needs of the LGBTQIA + student 社区 as well as develop students into self-advocates, with the hope they become leaders outside of UMKC.
